[Video Goals] Arsenal 4-1 Sunderland: Giroud Brace Sinks Black Cats

By on February 22, 2014

Arsenal eased past a poor Sunderland side 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon to with Olivier Giroud helping himself to a brace.

The Gunners took the lead in the 5th minute when Jack Wilshere combined beautifully with Giroud to allow the Frenchman to slot home from 10 yards before he pounced on a short back pass to make it 2-0 with a well-taken finish.

We then scored one of the goals of the season as Wilshere, Giroud and Rosicky all combined in the edge of the area before the Czech international dinked home a delightful third before Laurent Koscielny made it 4-0 just after half time.

Sunderland did pull one back through a wonderful strike from sub Emanuele Giaccherini but Arsenal collect the three points to move back to within 1 of leaders Chelsea after they beat Everton 1-0 earlier today thanks to a last minute goal.
