Agent Confirms Striker Could Join Arsenal Amid Reports Of €31m Bid
The agent of Mario Balotelli has admitted the AC Milan striker could join Arsenal this summer amid reports claiming the Gunners had submitted a €31m offer.
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Gooner Mac brings us news of Arsenal’s bid for Mario Balotelli.
The agent of Mario Balotelli has admitted the AC Milan striker could join Arsenal this summer amid reports claiming the Gunners have submitted a €31m bid, according to the Mirror.
Recent speculation has suggested that Arsene Wenger was set to scout Balotelli at this summers World Cup after short-listing the Italian international as a possible new addition to his strike-force for next season.
The Express then reported on Monday night that Arsenal had stepped up their interest in Balotelli after learning Monaco were also on his trail and hoped to beat the Ligue 1 outfit to the 23-year-old’s signature by tabling a bid worth €31m (£25m).
The former Manchester City striker’s agent, Mino Raiola, has now talked up the possibility of a move to north London, calling Arsenal a ‘fantastic club’ and hinting that a move could happen this summer.
“Arsenal are a fantastic club,”
“Will a transfer happen? Anything is possible.” Raiola said according to the Mirror.
Arsenal need to bring in at least one top class striker this summer and Balotelli would certainly fit the bill. He may be a hugely controversial figure, but his talent can not be questioned and he showed what he can do again after scoring Italy’s winner against England on Saturday night.
The forward is expected to leave the San Siro this summer after being targetted for racial abuse last season and the Express claim that AC Milan are happy to cash in as they want his wages off their books to ease their financial problems after missing out on Champions League football next year.
