Arsenal Table £8m Bid After Agreeing Personal Terms Over £60k-A-Week Deal
Arsenal have tabled an £8million bid for Serge Aurier after agreeing terms over a long-term contract worth £60,000-a-week with the Toulouse right-back.
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Gooner Mac brings us the latest on Arsenal pursuit of Serge Aurier.
Arsenal have tabled an £8m bid for Serge Aurier after agreeing terms over a long-term contract worth £60,000-a-week with the Toulouse right-back, according to reports.
We’ve been strongly linked with the Ivory Coast international in recent weeks as Arsene Wenger continues to look for a replacement for Manchester City-bound Bacary Sagna.
After weeks of speculation it now looks like we’ve finally made our move with the Metro citing reports coming from L’Equipe that claim we have made an opening offer of £8m to his current club Toulouse and are now waiting to hear back from the Ligue 1 club over whether it’s been accepted.
The newspaper states that we made our bid after agreeing personal terms with Aurier, with the 21-year-old ready to sign a five-year deal worth £60,000-a-week, and we hope we can get the deal tied up quickly once a fee is agreed.
With all the rumours flying about it’s difficult to know what to believe but the fact this news comes from L’Equipe should give us some confidence that it’s accurate. Let’s hope that turns out to be the case as Aurier looks a real talent and he’d certainly be an exciting replacement for Sagna.
His performances at the World Cup have been excellent and one things for certain, our delivery from the right side will improve vastly if we do end up signing him as he has a superb cross on him. I have my doubts over his defensive capabilities but he’s still young so has plenty of time to improve, and no doubt he would under the tutelage of Arsene and Steve Bould.

Let’s see how this develops over the coming days as with the Ivory Coast still in contention for the knockout stages of the World Cup, we aren’t going to be able to tie this proposed deal up any time soon, but fingers crossed Aurier can become our first major signing of the summer.
