Rodgers Continues Spending Spree As Liverpool Close In On £59m Triple Swoop
Brendan Rodgers looks set to go on a spending spree with Liverpool are closing in on a £56m triple swoop for Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Dicock Origi.
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Liverpool are linked with a triple swoop.
Brendan Rodgers looks set to continue his spending spree with reports today claiming Liverpool are closing in on a £59m triple swoop for attackers Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Dicock Origi.
Widespread reports on Friday broke the news that Lallana was on Merseyside to undergo a medical after a £25m fee was finally agreed with Southampton for the England international.
The Express claim that the 26-year-old’s agent has confirmed personal terms have now been agreed and Lallana is expected to officially complete his switch to Anfield within the next 48 hours.
And it looks like the attacking midfielder is set to be joined by young Belgian striker Origi with the Mirror reporting that Liverpool have agreed a £8.9m deal with Lille for the 19-year-old.
Origi is currently over in Brazil where his impressive form has helped Belgium into the knockout stages of the tournament, but the newspaper claims the teenager is likely to complete his move to Merseyside once he’s fulfilled his international commitments before being loaned back to Lille for next season.
However, perhaps the most exciting signing of all could be that of Markovic, with the Express claiming that Rodgers has now stepped up his interest in the versatile attacker despite being on the verge of landing Lallana.
It was initially though the Reds would only pursue one of the players, but the report states that Rodgers wants both and a £25m deal could also be agreed with Benfica for the 20-year-old Serbian international to complete what would be an exciting £59m triple swoop for the club.
Markovic is predominantly a winger but can play anywhere across the attacking positions behind the striker – much like Lallana – so Rodgers is certainly going to have plenty of options in the final third next season if all these moves come off.

The triple swoop would bring Liverpool’s summer signings up to five with the club having already wrapped up deals for Rickie Lambert and Emre Can, and the spending would almost certainly continue should star striker Luis Suarez leave the club this summer.
