[Tweets] Balotelli, Moreno, Sakho + More: Liverpool Players React On Twitter To Win
Mario Balotelli, Alberto Moreno and Mamadou Sakho were among the players to take to Twitter to react to Liverpool’s dramatic 2-1 win over Ludogorets yesterday.
Liverpool left it late to secure victory over Ludogorets in their Champions League Group B opener on Tuesday night with a last minute Steven Gerrard penalty earning a 2-1 win.
Most were expecting the Reds to cruise to a comfortable victory in their first game back in Europe’s elite competition but the Bulgarian minnows made it clear early on they weren’t at Anfield to simply make up the numbers.
It took until the 82nd minute for the Merseysiders to break the deadlock with Mario Balotelli opening his account for Liverpool but Ludogorets looked to have snatched a point when they equalised in the 90th minute.
However, a mistake from the visitors goalkeeper gifted the Reds the perfect opportunity to claim the three points when he gave away a last gasp penalty, and Steven Gerrard made no mistake from the spot.
After the game, several players took to Twitter to react to the vital win with Jose Enrique, Mario Balotelli, Javier Manquillo, Alberto Moreno, Mamadou Sakho and Fabio Borini all having their say.
Here’s what the players said on Twitter:
