[Video Goals] Man City 4-1 Tottenham: Aguero Hits Four As City Sink 10-Man Spurs

By on October 18, 2014

Manchester City inflicted another heavy defeat on Tottenham with Sergio Aguero scoring all four in a 4-1 win at the Etihad this afternoon.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Aguero fired past Hugo Lloris after Eric Lamela had lost possession on the edge of the area.

Spurs drew level just two minutes later when Christian Eriksen made it 1-1 after Fernando lost the ball just outside his own box but City re-took the lead shortly after when Frank Lampard was adjudged to have been fouled by Lamela in the area; Aguero stepped up to make it 2-1 from the spot.

The Argentine then had the chance to make it 3-1 when Kaboul fouled Silva in the area but this time Lloris saved with his feet to deny Aguero his hat-trick. Spurs could then have made it 2-2 from a penalty of their own but Roberto Soldado saw his spot-kick saved well by Hart to keep it at 2-1.

City made them pay for that miss when Fazio was dismissed for a foul on Aguero in the six yard area and the striker finally got his third with a calm penalty kick before sealing the game with a superb left-footed finish for 4-1.
