Man Utd Suffer Huge Blow After Trio Ruled Out Of Chelsea Clash

Manchester United have a striker crisis to contend with after Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford were all ruled out of tonight’s FA Cup clash with Chelsea, according to the Mirror.
United head to Stamford Bridge looking to book their place in the semi finals and were already consigned to being without Zlatan Ibrahimovic as their top scorer begins his three-match domestic suspension.
That was meant to open the door for the likes of Martial, Rooney and Rashford but the three attackers have joined Ibrahimovic in missing the trip to west London.
The Mirror claim that Rooney was injured during a challenge with Phil Jones in training on Saturday and wasn’t among the 20-man squad that left Manchester for the capital on Sunday afternoon.
Rashford had been tipped to lead the line up front in the absence of Ibrahimovic but the young striker is understood to be ill while Martial has also picked up a knock and misses the game tonight.
It leaves Mourinho without four strikers and the ‘Special One’ is going to have to come up with a solution as he prepares to face his former side at Stamford Bridge.
The most likely scenario is that Marouane Fellaini will be deployed as a make-shift target man in the central striking role but Henrikh Mkhitaryan is another option for Mourinho.
It’s a nightmare situation for the Portuguese coach as he looks to make amends having been humiliated upon his return to Stamford Bridge following the 4-0 Premier League defeat back in October.
In other team news, Luke Shaw has been included in the squad after being left out of last weeks Europa League trip to Rostov while Eric Bailly is back in contention after serving a European ban.
Mourinho is expected to freshen things up with the likes of David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick and Juan Mata all set for recalls to the starting eleven.
