Arsenal fan and celebrity TV presenter Piers Morgan has told Arsene Wenger to build his team around Jack Wilshere after the midfielder put in another impressive performance tonight.
Wilshere is currently trying to force his way back in to Wenger’s first team plans after recovering from yet another serious injury but the midfielder has so far been used sparingly.
The 25-year-old is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League and made just his third start of the season in all competitions during tonight’s Europa League group stage clash with Red Star Belgrade.
In what was a poor game, Wilshere stood out and played a key role in our eventual winner as he found space with a lovely turn before playing a one-two with Theo Walcott which led to Olivier Giroud’s sensational overhead kick. [watch the goal here]
Morgan – who is extremely vocal with his Arsenal views on Twitter and is seriously in the ‘WengerOut’ camp – took to the micro blogging site to tell the manager to build his team around Wilshere.
The TV presenter and journalist claims that Jack is one of the few players at the club who has the desire to match his obvious talent.
He Tweeted:
Arsenal should re-build the team around @JackWilshere. One of the few players we have with the fight/desire to match his talent. #afc

It’s a lovely idea to build our team around Wilshere and I’m sure that was Wenger’s plan five years ago but sadly Jack has proven himself to be too injury prone to be relied upon.
However, if he can stay injury-free this season, I hope he’ll be rewarded with a new contract and then we might just start to see Wilshere fulfill his potential at Arsenal.
