Arsenal Team News: Wenger’s Update On Lacazette, Kolasinac, Bellerin & Monreal
Arsene Wenger has offered an update on Lacazette, Kolasinac, Bellerin and Monreal ahead of Arsenal’s league clash with Watford this weekend
Arsenal will be hoping to build on the Europa League win over AC Milan when we welcome Watford to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Arsene Wenger has spoken to Arsenal.com and provided updates on Sead Kolasinac, Calum Chambers, Nacho Monreal, Hector Bellerin and Alexandre Lacazette ahead of the game.
Kolasinac impressed against Milan last night before being forced off in the second half with an ankle injury but Wenger says the Bosnian international still has a chance to be fit this weekend.
Chambers was also replaced during the closing stages at the San Siro last night but thankfully it was only cramp so he should be fit to face Watford on Sunday afternoon.
His availability is important as Bellerin has once again been ruled out with a knee injury that prevented him from travelling to Italy so Chambers is expected to fill-in once again at right-back.
Monreal has missed the last three games after suffering a back injury in the Carabao Cup final last month and he’ll once again sit out the visit of Watford, but Wenger is hoping he could return for the second leg against Milan next week.
The final update was on Lacazette and the striker has returned to light training today after recovering from knee surgery but won’t be available for selection until after the March international break.
Wenger told Arsenal.com:
on the team news…
Sead Kolasinac has an ankle problem, but we don’t rule him out for Sunday yet. Calum Chambers had cramps, because he played in a position which he is not used to for a centre back. He should be OK though.on Nacho Monreal…
Nacho Monreal is on a good way, he could be available again for next Thursday.on Hector Bellerin…
Hector Bellerin we don’t know yet, we have to see. He is not available for the weekend though.on Alexandre Lacazette…
Alexandre Lacazette has his first run today, but won’t be back until after the international break.
Arsenal head in to the weekend action sitting sixth in the Premier League table and 13 points adrift of the top four so we desperately need to get back to winning ways in the league against Watford on Sunday.
