Tottenham Hotspur Star Slams Arsenal Boss Unai Emery

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura has hit out at Arsenal boss Unai Emery for his treatment during their time together at Paris Saint-Germain

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura has hit out at Arsenal boss Unai Emery for his treatment during their time together at Paris Saint-Germain, according to quotes in the Mirror.

Moura was one of the most sought-after youngsters in world football when he joined PSG from Sao Paulo in 2013 and he developed in to a key player for the French champions with the 2016/17 campaign a particular highlight when he provided 19 goals and 10 assists in his 53 appearances.

However, the Brazilian winger was subsequently frozen out by then PSG boss Emery the following season with Moura only making a handful of appearances in the first team before being forced to leave the Parc des Prince in January 2018.

The 26-year-old made a £25m switch to Tottenham and after taking some time to adjust to life in the Premier League during the second half of last season, the South American has hit the ground running this campaign.

Moura took his tally to three goals in as many games with a brace during his Man of the Match performances against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night as Tottenham maintained their 100% start to the season with a 3-0 victory.

The Brazilian star has now opened up on the disastrous second season under Emery at PSG – which he describes at the worst seven months of his life – and he hit out at the now-Arsenal boss for not even using him in practice games at training.

When quizzed about life under Emery, the Tottenham star is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“It was very hard, the worst seven months of my life. I came from a very good season, I was second top scorer of the team, only behind Cavani.

“The following season, I wasn’t even called up. I used to go to practice, I wasn’t even in the game. I used to go back home.

“Anyway, it was very difficult. But I kept working hard, strong. And God gave me the best gift of life, my son.”

Emery took over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal this summer so Moura will have an added incentive to impress during the first North London Derby of the season when Tottenham head to the Emirates in early December.
