Man Utd Team News: Mourinho Confirms Triple Blow As 4 Men Ruled Out Of Valencia Game

Jose Mourinho has confirmed a triple injury blow with four Manchester United players ruled out of their Champions League clash with Valencia.

Manchester United will be desperate to get their season back on track following a turbulent week when they take on Valencia in the group stages of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Ahead of the game at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s offered a full team news and injury update including the latest on Jesse Lingard, Ander Herrera, Ashley Young and Marcos Rojo.

The Red Devils boss confirmed a blow with the news that Young has been ruled out of the game tomorrow after picking up a knock while captaining the United side during their 3-1 defeat at West Ham on Saturday. The 33-year-old completed the full ninety minutes at the London Stadium but it appears he sustained an injury that will keep him out of the visit of Valencia tomorrow night.

Herrera was an unused substitute against the Hammers but the Spaniard still seems to have also picked up a knock that will rule him out of the Champions League group stage game on Tuesday while Lingard will once again miss out after not making the squad at the weekend due to a groin injury.

Rojo is also still unavailable for selection as he continues to work his way back to full fitness from a knee injury that’s hampered him in recent weeks so it means Mourinho will be without four senior players for the Valencia clash.

Mourinho told ManUtd.com:

“Apart from Marcos Rojo, now we have Ander Herrera, Ashley Young and Jesse Lingard out. I prefer the doctor to speak, but they are not in [the right] conditions.”

Young started at right-back on Saturday so his absence will open the door for Antonio Valencia or Diogo Dalot to be recalled to the back four tomorrow while Mourinho’s options in midfield are limited with Herrera and Lingard both on the sidelines.

United head in to the game off the back of a poor run of results that have seen them draw with Wolves, crash out of the Carabao Cup to Derby and get beaten 3-1 at West Ham inside the past 8 days so Mourinho will be keen to get back to winning ways tomorrow.
