Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a swoop for AS Monaco star Lamine Camara, as per TEAMtalk.
Since moving to Stade Louis II from Metz, the 22-year-old has established himself as a key starter, making seven goal contributions across all competitions last term.
After proving his worth in club football, he has secured his place in the Senegal national team’s starting line-up. However, he displayed average performances for his country in the World Cup.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that despite already purchasing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, Man Utd are planning to sign a third midfielder and are showing a significant interest in Camara.
On the other hand, with Enzo Fernandez heavily linked with a move away, Chelsea have started exploring options to strengthen the engine room and have identified Camara as a serious option.
Man Utd and Chelsea are weighing up a swoop for the African after doing extensive work on this deal. However, they will have to overcome fierce competition to finalise the operation.
The report state that Liverpool and Newcastle United are also in this race and have been monitoring his situation closely. On the other hand, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig have all kept a close eye on his development.

However, Crystal Palace have made the most concrete approach to seal the deal, as they have already seen their opening £43m proposal rejected by Monaco.
TEAMtalk say that there is a belief that Camara could be Monaco’s best midfield product since Aurelien Tchouameni, and he could reach the same height as the Real Madrid man. The African is even highly likely to move to the Premier League this summer.
Camara is an energetic defensive midfielder by trait but is also comfortable in the box-to-box role. He is quick, technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, and is efficient in defensive contributions.
Camara is a talented player and hasn’t reached his prime yet. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Man Utd or Chelsea should either club purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Old Trafford club or the West London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services.
