Tottenham plot swoop to sign Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Having finished 17th in the last two Premier League campaigns, the Lilywhites have been very busy in this window to overhaul the squad and help Roberto De Zerbi achieve success this season.
They have upgraded the backline by signing Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke. Moreover, they have purchased Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali to strengthen the midfield department.
On the other hand, the North London club have signed Martin Dubravka to support Antonin Kinsky, with Guglielmo Vicario joining Juventus on loan this summer.
Now, on his YouTube channel, Romano states that after revamping the backline and engine room, Spurs are planning to reinforce the attacking department.
They have identified Liverpool star Cody Gakpo and Manchester City’s Savinho as serious options for the flanks. But if they eventually fail to buy the Brazilian, they want Chelsea forward Pedro Neto as a potential alternative option.
On the other hand, De Zerbi’s side are planning to purchase Man City striker Omar Marmoush or Chelsea’s Jackson to strengthen the centre-forward position.
Jackson to Tottenham
After moving to Stamford Bridge from Villarreal, Jackson displayed inconsistent performances in the Premier League. So, the Blues decided to revamp the No.9 position last summer and allowed the African to join Bayern Munich on loan.
Although he enjoyed great success at the Allianz Arena, he remained on the periphery. Therefore, the Bavarian club decided not to purchase him permanently this summer.
Jackson is a talented player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham should they purchase him for a reasonable price.
With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2033, Chelsea are in a strong position to demand big money, with the African valued at around £34m by Transfermarkt.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services this summer.
Meanwhile, Tottenham currently have Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as options to deploy in the No.9 position.
