David Moyes keen on signing Guela Doue at Everton

David Moyes is reportedly keen on signing Strasbourg star Guela Doue at Everton, as per Sky Sports.
Since moving to Stade de la Meinau from Stade Rennais a couple of years ago, the 23-year-old has established himself as an undisputed starter.
He showcased his productivity last campaign, scoring twice and registering seven assists in 34 appearances across all competitions. Moreover, he helped his side keep five clean sheets.
Having proven his worth in club football, Doue, who is the older brother of PSG star Desire Doue, has secured his place in the Ivory Coast national team’s starting line-up.
Now, Sky Sports state that Moyes is keen on addressing Everton’s right-back issue late in this window, and Doue is his preferred option ahead of Arsenal star Ben White and Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz.
The player is valued at around £17m by Transfermarkt and still has a contract until 2029. So, Strasbourg are in a strong position to demand a sizable amount of money if they are forced to cash-in.
Doue is a 6ft 2in tall right-footed versatile defender as he is comfortable in the right-back and centre-back positions. He is quick, strong, good in the air, comfortable playing out from the back, efficient going forward, and strong in defensive contributions.
Doue to Everton
Everton have struggled with right-back issues in recent years as Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson have had fitness problems over the years.
Jake O’Brien has provided cover in the RB role, although he is a towering centre-back by trait. Moreover, James Garner featured in this area at times last term.
Coleman has left the club for free, while Patterson’s existing deal is set to run until next summer. Therefore, Everton could do with signing a new right-back.
Doue is a talented player and possesses the necessary physical attributes to flourish in the Premier League. Moreover, he isn’t a finished article yet, so he might be a shrewd acquisition for Everton should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Merseyside club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services before the end of this transfer window.
