Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United interested in AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic

Strahinja Pavlovic: "Milan? There were also two English clubs after me"

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all set to play in four different competitions this season, and despite revamping their squads in the summer, some areas still lack enough depth than others and are set to be tested to the limit.

Central defence could be one of those. While Arsenal star William Saliba is indefinitely injured, as is Jurrien Timber, Liverpool have a lack of depth and experience in their backline, while Manchester United also don’t have a fixed pairing in the back four.

Ekrem Konur has reported that the Premier League trio are already pondering over defensive reinforcements in 2027 as they are all considering a transfer for AC Milan centre back Strahinja Pavlovic, who could leave the Rossoneri for £56 million.

A player ready for the Premier League

Strahinja Pavlovic has had a successful career at AC Milan and as he enters the best years of his career following impressive development in Serie A, he could entertain thoughts of joining a Premier League club next year.

While Arsenal are keen on him, it remains to be seen if they are prepared to fork out £56 million on him considering they have decent depth in the back four and should have William Saliba back to full fit by 2027.

Liverpool and Manchester United, however, might see a lot of value in the Serbian international’s signing. While the Reds need a replacement for Virgil van Dijk, the Red Devils need to add more experience to their backline with Harry Maguire ageing.

Pavlovic fits the bill perfectly for both English rivals. His aerial and physical prowess to win duels, ability to play out passes from the back and sound defensive knowhow after two years in Serie A make the 25-year-old readymade for the Premier League.

Both Liverpool and Man United have enough money to afford him and can offer him a decent contract too. If indeed Pavlovic is open to joining them next year, Champions League qualification would be a significant factor influencing his decision.
