Chelsea & Liverpool eye move to sign Brighton star Luka Vuskovic

Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Brighton and Hove Albion star Luka Vuskovic, as per TEAMtalk.
After joining Tottenham Hotspur from HNK Hajduk Split last year, the 19-year-old immediately joined Hamburg on loan to play regularly and develop his career.
The youngster showed glimpses of his qualities in the Bundesliga last term, scoring six goals and keeping as many clean sheets in 30 appearances across all competitions.
Still, Spurs decided not to keep him after bolstering the backline by signing Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi. On the other hand, as a potential replacement for Van Hecke, Brighton bought Vuskovic.
The youngster has enjoyed a promising start this season. Having proven his worth in club football, Vuskovic has secured his place in the Croatia national team.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that Chelsea are interested in him and are keeping a close eye on his development before making a potential swoop next year.
However, the Blues will have to overcome fierce competition to seal the deal as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool are also in this race. Moreover, Bayern Munich have been monitoring his development for a while.

However, the German giants can’t buy him before creating space by selling at least one defender and are open to cashing-in on Kim Min-jae or Hiroki Ito.
The report state that Vuskovic has a contract until 2031 at AMEX Stadium and Tottenham hold a 20% sell-on clause. So, Chelsea or Liverpool will have to spend a big fee to finalise the operation.
Vuskovic is a 6ft 4in tall right-footed centre-back. He is comfortable playing out from the back, good in the air, has an eye for long-range passing, and is efficient in defensive contributions.
The Brighton star is a talented player and possesses high potential. Therefore, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Chelsea or Liverpool should either club purchase him.
Although Chelsea bolstered the backline by purchasing Maxence Lacroix this summer, they have struggled to keep clean sheets this season. On the other hand, with Virgil Van Dijk’s current contract set to run until next summer, Liverpool seemingly want a new defender.
It is going to be interesting to see whether the West London club or the Merseyside club eventually make a concrete approach to secure Vuskovic’s services.
