[Teams] Atletico Madrid vs Man Utd: Confirmed line-ups for Champions League clash

The Champions League returns this evening and Manchester United begin their campaign with a tough trip to the Metropolitano Stadium to take on Atletico Madrid.

Michael Carrick is under increasing pressure at United following a hugely disappointing start to the Premier League season. The Red Devils sit 13th in the table having won only one of their six games so far and were held to a 1-1 draw at home to 10-man Spurs at the weekend.

Carrick will hope the Champions League can be a welcome distraction for his squad and will be hoping for a confidence-boosting result in Madrid.

Senne Lammens keeps goal once again for Manchester United but with Luke Shaw missing, Diogo Dalot deputises at left-back. Leny Yoro comes in at right-back while Ayden Heaven starts alongside Lisandro Martinez in the middle of defence. Harry Maguire drops to the bench.

Kobbie Mainoo has missed the trip to Madrid so Youri Yielemans is joined by Andrey Santos in the middle of the park tonight. Carlos Baleba also makes his full debut in midfield so Bruno Fernandes moves to the right side of attack.

Marcus Rashford is recalled to start on the left flank for United with Bryan Mbeumo leading the line up front. Matheus Cunha, Joshua Zirkzee and Amad Diallo are all options on the bench for Carrick.

As for Atletico Madrid, Julian Alvarez starts in attack with Alex Baena and Giuliano Simeone offering support. Alex Grimaldo will be a threat from left-back.
