Arsenal take on Slavia Praha at the Fortuna Arena tonight looking to go one step closer to progressing to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
The Gunners moved top of the Premier League on Sunday thanks to a hard fought 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield. Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the game to claim a vital three points for the defending champions.
Arsenal now switch their focus to the Champions League and sit on seven points from their opening three games. Having beaten Napoli and Lille in their first two matches, the Londoners drew 2-2 away to Bayern Munich last time out so they have enjoyed an excellent start to the league phase.
Mikel Arteta has rotated his squad for tonight’s game by making six changes from the side that started against Liverpool. David Raya is among those who keep their place but there is a change at right-back with Ben White coming in for Jurrien Timber.
William Saliba is back on the bench after making a swift recovery from a back injury. He’ll have to wait to make his full return as Ezri Konsa keeps his place alongside Gabriel Magalhaes while Piero Hincapie replaces Riccardo Calafiori at left-back.
Bruno Guimaraes drops to the bench with Martin Zubimendi recalled to make just his third start of the season. Declan Rice starts once again for Arsenal but Martin Odegaard is given a breather with Mikel Merino recalled in midfield.
Christos Tzolis made his return from injury at Anfield on Sunday but he’s not risked from the start tonight as Eberechi Eze is recalled on the left flank.
Bukayo Saka is facing a spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury so Noni Madueke keeps his place on the right wing ahead of Max Dowman. Kai Havertz is rested with Viktor Gyokeres recalled to lead the line up front for the Gunners.
