Villarreal are hoping to land Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku on loan this January, according to reports.
The Mirror says Villarreal boss Juan Carlos Garrido has identified 18-year-old Lukaku as a potential short term signing in January as they look to bolster their attacking options.
Garrido and president Fernando Roig remain confident they can tempt Chelsea into relinquishing the youngster, with the promise of regular first team football. Lukaku, who joined from Anderlecht in an £18m deal this summer, already boasts over 10 international caps for Belgium but has struggled to get regular games at Chelsea because of their wealth of forwards currently on the books at Stamford Bridge.
