Arsenal
Arsenal’s £10m new-boy arrives but where’s the official announcement?
By Fab4.
Arsenal appear to be trying to beat their own record for how long it takes to sign a player, with no official conformation yet that we have signed Laurent Koscielny. However, according to French newspaper Quest France, he trained with the Arsenal Reserves and Youth players yesterday afternoon meaning a deal must be inches from being completed.
It seems a £10m fee has already been agreed and the two clubs have arranged a link-up with training methods and young players exchanged in the future, FC Lorient have already named Koscielny’s replacement, now the player has been training with us, so where is the official conformation of his signature? Perhaps Arsene is wanting to unveil more than one player at once? Or is that wishful thinking?
I remember the day’s when Arsenal were good at hiding their transfer dealings and almost every signing was out of the blue and a surprise. I loved the feeling when we signed someone. These days all the excitement has been taken out of it, as we know every detail of the ‘deal’ in advance, the club say nothing, then by the time Arsenal eventually make the official announcement it’s old news.
It’s a sign of the times i suppose, where media outlets fight for ‘exclusives’ and transfer stories sell papers. I just wish Arsene would hurry up and complete the Koscielny deal so he can concentrate on finding another centre-back, a goal keeper and a defensive midfielder!
