Colombian Legend Tips Radamel Falcao To Make Manchester United Move

Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Tino Asprilla tells Radamel Falcao to join Man Utd.

Colombian legend Faustino Asprilla claims he has told Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao to ignore the advances of the likes of Chelsea and Man City and join Man Utd this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Falcao has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers after continuing his devastating goal-scoring exploits at Atletico Madrid following his move from Porto in 2011 – scoring 67 goals in just 85 games so far for the La Liga side.

The Mail claim Chelsea and Man City are among a whole host of top clubs who’re interested in the the 27-year-old but former Newcastle United striker Tino Asprilla has told the hitman that his best bet would be to choose a move to Old Trafford this summer.

Asprilla claims Falcao asked for his advice on which club he should join and the former St James’ Park favourite is said to have told his compatriot to choose United if he wants to join a settled team that always challenges for trophies.

‘We were talking and he asked me my opinion on who he should join. He knows that every big club in the world wants him. He [Falcao] is not a player motivated by money – what he wants is somewhere that his family will be happy and where he will have success.

‘With teams like Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City they have good times then they have bad times – that is why I told him he must choose Manchester United. Every season they are challenging – and if he wants success that is where I have told him to go.

‘Also they don’t have all the behaviour away from the field – with changing coaches every season. They are steady in all that they do – and a well run club at every level. He is a real family guy – and Radamel will appreciate that and the way that Sir Alex Ferguson protects his players like family.’ Asprilla is quoted as saying in the Mail

Asprilla also described Falcao as the best finisher in the world and compared him to Alan Shearer, before suggesting that pairing the Colombian striker with Robin van Persie would make United unstoppable. He continued:

‘It is difficult for me to explain how good he is – he is the best finisher in the world. The only striker who has played in the Premier League who is on his finishing level is Alan Shearer.

‘If he signs for Manchester United – he would be their missing piece in the Champions League. Robin van Persie and Radamel would be unstoppable.’

It’s difficult to argue with Asprilla on this one. United under Sir Alex Ferguson are a settled outfit that are continuously competing for silverware, and it would be difficult to see anyone stopping them if they had Falcao and RVP up front. But I’m sure the likes of Chelsea and City will be doing all they can to lure the striker to the Premier League, let’s see who Falcao chooses at the end of the season.

Though midfield should be United’s top priority this summer, Redemal Falcao is a player I believe Sir Alex Ferguson cannot afford to sit back and watch join Chelsea with JM in charge. Chelsea with the likes of Hazard, Oscar and Mata already have a great attacking option, so add Falcao on top would make them unstoppable. A J.M return is also imminent this summer. I hope United sign Falcao, Dortmands (Gandogan) not sure if I spelled that right and swap Nani or Anderson for a player plus cash deal for Porto’s James Rodriguez!

Man United should sign Gundogan, Hummels, and Falcao. That should be enough to win the league again.
