Liverpool players Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson and Simon Mignolet have been showing off their acting skills after starring in the new Nivea television advert.

The Merseysiders announced last week that Nivea – one of the world’s leading skincare brands – have become the clubs official men’s grooming partner after agreeing a new multi-year deal.

As part of the agreement, Liverpool players have featured in the latest television advert which is designed to show the long-lasting protection of Nivea deodorant and inspire men to unlock their potential through preparation.

In the video, which can be viewed below, Sterling, Henderson and Mignolet appear to be getting changed in the dressing room when they receive a text message saying they are late for a red carpet event so make a last minute dash to arrive in time.

The trio hitch a lift with a Liverpool supporter and it’s safe to say it’s a tight squeeze as they cram into his three-wheel car. After giving the vehicle a push start, they race through the streets before pulling up at the function just in time. As the players walk down the red carpet they wave to the crowd and crucially, they all have dry armpits so avoid any embarrassing photos being taken.

Usually footballers and acting don’t always mix very well but leading man Henderson actually comes across pretty well in this advert. I’m not sure he should be giving up the day job for Hollywood any time soon, but it’s a decent first attempt by the Liverpool vice-captain.

Check out the video here and see his acting skills for yourself:
