Arsenal Could Finally Sign Benzema With Madrid Ready To Accept £40m
Arsenal could finally land Karim Benzema with Real Madrid ready to cash-in on the French international striker if a £40m offer is put on the table this summer
With the summer transfer window in full swing, managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads ahead of next season so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Karim Benzema is in the news once again….
Arsenal could finally land Karim Benzema with Real Madrid ready to cash-in on the French international striker if a £40m offer is put on the table this summer, according to the Express.
Arsene Wenger is being hotly tipped to try and bring in another top class forward before the window slams shut and the boss admitted last week that he’s prepared to spend big if the right player becomes available [via the Mirror].
It appears the man Wenger really wants is Benzema with the Express reporting earlier this week that we’d tabled an improved £35m offer for the striker after Madrid had turned down our opening £31m bid.
It seems that latest offer has been knocked back once again, however, the same newspaper is citing reports today which originate from Spain that claim Madrid would be willing to sell if we upped our bid to £40m.
The Express say that Madrid are ready to cash-in on the 27-year-old and use the money to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus as a replacement, with Rafa Benitez apparently keen to lure the German international to the Bernabeu either this summer or in 12 months, depending on what happens with Benzema.
It’s difficult to know how much truth there is behind this report but if it’s accurate and Madrid are prepared to sell the French striker for £40m, we should pick up the phone and get a deal done immediately.
Benzema would be a sensational signing for Arsenal and he could be the world class striker that fires us to the Premier League title this coming season. A front line of him, Sanchez, Ozil and Walcott would be a match for almost any side in world football.
The former Lyon hitman sent the rumour mill into overdrive earlier this week after posting a photo of himself on a private jet with a caption reading ‘leave the past in the past’, but it turned out he was just having a bit of fun as was soon pictured with the rest of the Real squad in Shanghai.
However, he did look out of sorts during yesterday’s pre-season friendly with AC Milan, with the striker being subbed at half-time during a 0-0 draw with some fans suggesting on social media that the speculation over his future is affecting his performances on the pitch.

There have been suggestions that Benitez is going to use either Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo through the middle this season which would explain why Madrid are supposedly eyeing Reus as a replacement for Benzema.
We’ll have to see how things develop over the coming weeks but I don’t think the Benzema-to-Arsenal rumours are going to go away any time soon and I’d love to see Arsene pull off another major coup during the closing stages of the window.
