[Video Goals] Liverpool 1-1 Carlisle: Bogdan The Hero As Reds Win Shoot-Out 3-2

Adam Bogdan was the hero as Liverpool edged into the fourth round of the Capital One Cup with a penalty shoot-out win over Carlisle after being held to a 1-1 draw at Anfield.
The Reds opened the scoring midway through the first half when Danny Ings was on hand to head home from close range following a decent cross from Adam Lallana.
Carlisle then shocked Anfield after grabbing an unlikely equaliser in the 34th minute when Derek Asamoah fired low past Adam Bogdan for 1-1.
Despite mounting pressure, the hosts couldn’t find a way through and the scores remained locked at 1-1 even after 30 minutes of extra-time.
So it went to penalties and Bodgan proved to be the hero, saving three penalties as Liverpool won the shoot-out 3-2 with Ings scoring what turned out to be the decisive spot-kick.
The Merseysiders will now face Bournemouth in the fourth round but despite their progression to the next round, the pressure is still firmly on Brendan Rodgers’ shoulders after another disappointing performance.
