Liverpool vs Arsenal Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Liverpool entertain league leaders Arsenal at Anfield this evening. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score
Arsenal will look to cement their position at the top of the Premier League table when they take on Liverpool at Anfield this evening.
The Gunners arrive on Merseyside sitting two points clear of second-placed Leicester City following a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United earlier this month so they’ll be hoping to at least maintain that advantage tonight.
A 3-1 win over Sunderland in the FA Cup on Saturday meant Arsene Wenger’s men have lost just one of their last 10 games in all competitions so the North Londoners should certainly be full of confidence heading into the match.
However, Liverpool are sure to give Arsenal a stern test as Jurgen Klopp’s side are in desperate need of a positive result themselves in order to give their Champions League hopes a major boost with the Reds currently sitting eighth in the table following a 2-0 defeat to West Ham at the start of the month.
The Merseysiders needed a late Brad Smith goal to salvage a 2-2 draw away to League Two Exeter City in the FA Cup on Friday night so Klopp will be hoping to get back to winning ways this evening.

Team news
Liverpool’s defensive woes have eased with Kolo Toure passed fit after suffering cramp last week while new signing Steven Caulker is eligible to make his debut after completing a loan move from QPR.
Mamadou Sakho is pushing for a recall after a knee injury but Klopp may decide against risking the Frenchman just yet so he could remain on the sidelines alongside Martin Skrtel – who continues to nurse a hamstring injury.
James Milner and Jordon Ibe are available after recovering from knocks while Jordan Henderson is also on the verge of making his comeback following a foot problem – but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be deemed fit enough to start tonight.
Simon Mignolet is expected to recover from a minor knock but Dejan Lovren, Philippe Coutinho, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge are all ruled out with hamstring problems, so they remain on the sidelines with long-term injury victims Joe Gomez and Danny Ings.
Arsenal will recall Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker, Aaron Ramsey, Nacho Monreal and Mathieu Flamini to the starting eleven after they were rested for the FA Cup win over Sunderland.
David Ospina faces a late fitness test on a minor groin injury while Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out as he’s yet to prove his fitness following six weeks out with a hamstring injury.
Tomas Rosicky is back in training but is still lacking match fitness so he’s out along with Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Danny Welbeck.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal: Liverpool have been plagued by inconsistent form all season but I expect them to put in a display against the league leaders tonight. The result could depend on how well Arsenal cope with Liverpool pressing game and if the hosts are able to disrupt the Gunners’ passing style. I hope it’s going to be an exciting match but in the end I’m going for a 1-1 draw.
Betting Tips
The bookmakers are struggling to separate the two teams but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 9/1 on Liverpool or 7/1 on Arsenal – just click here to take advantage of these crazy odds. My prediction of 1-1 is on offer at 11/2 while I also like the look of Theo Walcott to open the scoring at 6/1. If you combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 35/1.
