Chelsea will look to book their place in the third round of the EFL Cup when they take on Bristol Rovers at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. Here is the side we think Antonio Conte will select for the game:
Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois is expected to get a rest with no.2 Asmir Begovic getting a run-out between the sticks tomorrow night.
Defence: With Kurt Zouma still out with a long-term knee injury, Conte only has four fit senior defenders to choose form so he has very limited room to rotate at the back.
Gary Cahill is expected to line-up alongside John Terry in the middle of defence with Cesar Azpilicueta keeping his place at left-back but the only change we might see is youngster Ola Aina coming in at right-back and Branislav Ivanovic being rested.
Midfield: Cesc Fabregas proved to be the match winner having come off the bench against Burnley and the Spaniard should have played his way in to the starting eleven tomorrow.
Nemanja Matic is likely to be Fabregas’s partner in midfield with Oscar dropping out and N’Golo Kante should keep his place in the defensive midfield role in front of the back four.
Attack: Eden Hazard is expected to be given a breather with Victor Moses pushing for a start on the wing while Willian could return after missing the weekend win over Burnley with a minor calf problem.
Pedro is therefore likely to drop out while Michy Batshuayi could be given his full debut up front having come off the bench to score last time out with Diego Costa being given a rest.
Here is how I think we’ll see Chelsea line-up:
