Some of the Manchester United players have been celebrating on social media after they booked their place in the semi finals of the EFL Cup with a 4-1 win over West Ham last night.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic got the Red Devils off to the perfect start with an early goal before the Hammers levelled things up shortly before half time when Ashley Fletcher pounced on an error from David De Gea to make it 1-1.

However, United were rampant after the break and an Anthony Martial brace put them in control before Ibrahimovic secured a comfortable 4-1 win with a late fourth in stoppage time.

The victory saw United book their place in the last four of the League Cup where they were drawn to face Hull City in a two-legged semi final so it’s easy to see why some of the players have been celebrating online after the game.

Wayne Rooney took to Instagram to express his delight at United reaching the semi finals while Bastian Schweinsteiger hailed it as an ‘amazing’ evening with the ‘perfect’ result after he made his first appearance of the season off the bench.

Michael Carrick, Anthony Martial, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have also taken to their Twitter accounts to post messages and photos following the important win.
