Attacker Set To Fly-In For Medical After Liverpool Agree £37m Deal

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool set to sign Mohamed Salah….
Mohamed Salah is due to fly in to Heathrow airport to undergo his medical after Liverpool finally agreed terms with AS Roma over a deal worth £37m for the attacker, according to the Mirror.
Salah has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks with reports from ESPN at the start of the month claiming that Liverpool had seen their opening £28m bid rejected.
Roma insisted they wouldn’t be bullied in to selling the attacker on the cheap so the two clubs have been locked in negotiations over the past few weeks trying to thrash out a deal.
It looks like a breakthrough has finally been reached as the Mirror are one of several media outlets reporting today that Salah has been given the green light to fly-in to London later today.
The newspaper says the Egyptian international is likely to undergo his medical on Wednesday before signing a five-year contract with the Reds worth £90,000-a-week.
The Mirror go on to state that Roma’s sporting director Monchi is also due to fly to London to wrap-up the deal that will see Liverpool pay £32m up front with a further £5m coming in additional add-ons.
It means the proposed £37m deal is set to break Liverpool’s transfer record as it will eclipse the £35m the Merseysiders paid Newcastle for Andy Carroll back in 2011.
So it looks as though Salah is now on the verge of joining Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with the acquisition as he looks to further strengthen his attacking options ahead of the new season.
Klopp knows he needs to add depth as Liverpool prepare to mount a serious title challenge and compete in the Champions League and Salah will provide competition for the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane.
The 25-year-old was close to joining Liverpool before opting for a move to Chelsea in 2014 and although he endured a tough time in west London, the winger has rediscovered his best form since joining Roma.

He scored 19 goals and provided a further 15 assists in all competitions last season so he’ll certainly add more creativity to the Liverpool squad and I think he’ll prove to be an excellent signing.
