Chelsea To Steal March On Man Utd With Bid For £50m Premier League Star
Chelsea are set to steal a march on Manchester United by submitting a formal offer for £50m-rated Tottenham full-back Danny Rose after this weekend
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final weeks of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea are ready to make their move for Danny Rose…
Chelsea are set to steal a march on Manchester United by submitting a formal offer for £50m-rated Tottenham full-back Danny Rose after this weekend, according to The Sun.
Rose stunned Tottenham are conducting an interview with The Sun last week where he questioned the clubs transfer policy and suggested he wasn’t being paid what he is worth at White Hart Lane.
The 27-year-old also highlighted his desire to win trophies and admitted he would consider a move away from Tottenham if a concrete offer came in, with a move back up north his preference as he wants to be nearer his family.
The left-back was fined two-weeks wages for his outburst but boss Mauricio Pochettino insisted the issue was put to bed after Rose issued a public apology late last week.
However, that hasn’t stopped clubs from circling as Chelsea and Manchester United have both been strongly linked with Rose following his controversial interview.
Left-back has been something of a problem area for Jose Mourinho since he arrived at Old Trafford as a number of players have failed to establish themselves in the position and there’s been reports that United would be willing to use Luke Shaw as bait to land Rose.
However, it looks like Chelsea are now ready to steal a march on United as The Sun claim the Premier League champions will submit a formal offer for the defender after the meet Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.
The newspaper doesn’t give any indication as to how much Chelsea are going to put on the table but they do suggest Tottenham would value Rose at around £50m if they were to sell.
Antonio Conte is desperately trying to further strengthen his squad before the end of the month and Rose would provide top class competition for Marcos Alonso if the Blues were successful in luring him to Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham will no doubt do all they can to hang on to Rose as he’s arguably the best left-back in the league but it will be interesting to see if the player tries to force a move should Chelsea or United formalise their interest.
