Chelsea Set To Wrap-Up £15m Deal Today As Conte Closes-In On 5th Signing
Chelsea could complete a £15m deal to sign Fernando Llorente today following successful negotiations with Swansea late on Tuesday night
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final days of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Chelsea close-in on Fernando Llorente…
Chelsea could complete a £15m deal to sign Fernando Llorente today following successful negotiations with Swansea late on Tuesday night, according to the Daily Mail.
Llorente only joined Swansea from Sevilla last summer and proved to be a superb signing for the Welsh outfit as his 15 goals in 33 games proved pivotal in their fight against relegation.
The 32-year-old’s form attracted interest from Chelsea back in January but Swansea refused to sell mid-season and the Blues have now renewed their interest this summer.
The Italian manager knows Llorente well from their time working together at Juventus and it seems Conte is keen to be reunited with the Spanish international at Stamford Bridge.
And it looks like a move is now on the cards as the Daily Mail claim a £15m deal could be wrapped-up this afternoon after successful talks between the two clubs on Tuesday night.
The newspaper suggests that Swansea will sanction Llorente’s move to west London once they agree a £13m deal to re-sign Wilfried Bony two years after selling the striker to Manchester City.
Llorente would join Chelsea to offer support to Alvaro Morata up front but his arrival would cast further doubt over the future of Michy Batshuayi – who has struggled to establish himself following his move last summer.

We’ll have to see how this proposed deal develops over the coming hours but it looks as though Llorente is set to become Conte’s fifth major signing of the summer following the arrivals of Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero.
