Arsenal & Man Utd Handed Boost In Pursuit Of England Winger, Talks Due Tomorrow

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final days of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on the future of Jadon Sancho…
Arsenal and Manchester United have been boosted in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho as the attacker is due to hold talks with Manchester City on Thursday with the player keen on a move, according to the Mirror.
Sancho came through Watford’s youth system before joining City in 2015 and he’s developed in to one of the highly-rated young talents in British football over the past two years.
The 17-year-old has starred for the City youth teams and was named Player of the Tournament at this summer’s U17 European Championships after scoring seven goals to help England reach the final.
The teenager is still on a scholarship deal at the Etihad after turning down a lucrative £30,000-a-week contract and the Mirror claim he’s looking to leave City this summer.
Sancho is concerned about his chances to progress in to the first team under Pep Guardiola and those fears were confounded after he was left out of their pre-season tour of the United States.
It seems that was the final straw for the youngster as the newspaper says he’s been AWOL from training for much of August and City officials have been unable to get hold of him.
The Mirror claim Arsenal and United are among the clubs keen to offer him a fresh start and Sancho is expected to inform City of his decision to leave during talks with the club and his agents tomorrow.
Arsenal could be the front-runners as the paper says Sancho would favour a move back to London and fellow suitors Tottenham have since pulled out of the running for his signature.
Given he isn’t signed to a professional contract, Sancho could move to another English team outside of the window as long as City sanction the move but they would demand a sizeable fee to agree his release. If no fee could be agreed, then the transfer would go to a tribunal and City would be due training compensation for developing the teenager.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop after the talks tomorrow but it would be a major coup for Arsenal or United if they were able to land Sancho as he’s one of the best young wingers in British football.
