Tottenham Ready To Sign £30m Liverpool Target If 27-Year-Old Joins Man Utd
Tottenham are ready to sign £30m-rated Liverpool target Ryan Sessegnong to replace Danny Rose if he leaves to join Manchester United
The transfer window may be closed but clubs are still working hard ahead of January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Tottenham are linked with Ryan Sessegnon….
Tottenham are ready to sign £30m-rated Liverpool target Ryan Sessegnong to replace Danny Rose if he leaves to join Manchester United, according to the Telegraph.
Rose is being strongly tipped to leave Spurs as his future has been in doubt since he conducted a controversial interview in the summer which saw him question the clubs ambition and wage structure.
The 27-year-old has struggled to force his way back in to Mauricio Pochettino’s plans since returning to fitness and admitted he was ‘fuming’ after being axed from the squad for the recent defeat to Arsenal.
Manchester United have been strongly linked with Rose and the Telegraph claim Jose Mourinho is keen to sign the full-back either in January or at the end of the season.
Left-back has been a problem area for Mourinho since he arrived at the club with the likes of Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind all failing to make the position their own.
Ashley Young is now the preferred option at left-back and the 32-year-old is performing well but a long-term solution is needed and it seems Rose is Mourinho’s first choice target.
It looks like Tottenham are already planning for life without the England international as the Telegraph claims Pochettino has lined-up Sessegnon as the player he wants should Rose leave.
Sessegnon has emerged as one of the hottest prospects outside of the Premier League since breaking in to the Fulham first team set-up at the start of last season.
The 17-year-old ended up scoring 7 goals in 31 appearances last term and recently scored a hat-trick during a 5-4 win over Sheffield United while he’s also represented England at U19 level.
The full-back signed his first professional contract in June but that hasn’t put off a whole host of top clubs as the newspaper report says the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea have joined Tottenham in showing a keen interest.
Jurgen Klopp is still assessing his options at left-back despite the improved form of Alberto Moreno this season while Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is on the look-out for competition for Marcos Alonso.
However, the Telegraph claim Spurs have already made enquiries over signing Sessegnon and the north Londoners feel they are in a strong position to sign the £30m-rated defender.

It’s going to be interesting to see how things develop over the coming months but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rose join United in the summer and it seems Spurs are doing all they can to land Sessegnon as his replacement.
