Liverpool Tipped To Challenge Man Utd For Signing Of £50m Tottenham Star
Liverpool are being tipped to challenge favourites Manchester United for the signature of £50m-rated Tottenham full-back Danny Rose
The transfer window may be closed but clubs are still working hard ahead of January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with Danny Rose…
Liverpool are being tipped to challenge favourites Manchester United for the signature of £50m-rated Tottenham full-back Danny Rose, according to a report in the Daily Star.
Rose’s future at Tottenham is been in serious doubt since he conducted a controversial interview in the summer which saw him question the clubs wage structure and transfer policy.
The left-back also admitted he’d consider a move away from White Hart Lane if a tempting offer was to arrive but Spurs refused to sell in the summer window after already losing Kyle Walker to Man City.
Rose ended up staying after issuing a public apology but the defender has struggled to force his way back in to Mauricio Pochettino’s starting eleven since returning from a knee injury with Ben Davies the preferred option on the left.
The 27-year-old reacted badly to being substituted during Tottenham’s Champions League win over APOEL last night with Rose seen storming straight down the tunnel after he was replaced by Kyle Walker-Peters in the 70th minute.
It’s led to fresh speculation suggesting that Rose is unhappy at the club and will push for a move this January and it seems he could have two tempting offers up north if he does manage to force his way out of north London.
The Daily Star are citing BetStars odds as having Man Utd as the 4/6 favourites to sign Rose but Liverpool are also in the running at 5/1 with the bookmakers to lure the defender to Anfield.
BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion is quoted by the newspaper as saying:
“Danny Rose’s future at Tottenham appears to be hanging in the balance after falling out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino.
“The Spurs left-back has been a permanent fixture on Jose Mourinho’s defensive radar and Manchester United are the overwhelming favourites at 4/6 to strike up a deal for the England international.
“The Red Devils’ Premier League rivals Liverpool are also in the running to become the Sheffield-born player’s next club and can be backed at 5/1.”
Jose Mourinho is expected to try and strengthen his options at left-back as Ashley Young is currently the first choice but a long-term solution is needed and Rose has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has also been tipped to buy another left-back to compete with Alberto Moreno and Rose would be an excellent signing for the Merseysiders if they could win the race for his signature.

However, the Daily Mail reported earlier this week that United are growing increasingly confident of securing a £50m deal to land the full-back either in January or next summer.
