Liverpool Dealt Injury Blow As Klopp Confirms Key Man Could Miss Burnley Clash
Liverpool have been handed a major injury concern after Jurgen Klopp admitted Mohamed Salah is a doubt for Monday’s trip to Burnley.
Liverpool have been handed a major injury concern after Jurgen Klopp admitted Mohamed Salah is a doubt for Monday’s trip to Burnley.
Salah started against Leicester City this afternoon and was in superb form once again as he levelled things up shortly after half time with a lovely goal after the Foxes had taken an early lead.
The Egyptian international then grabbed the winner as he slotted home his 23 goal in all competitions this season with another fine finish to secure a vital 2-1 victory over Leicester at Anfield.
However, Salah picked up a knock as he was seen limping during the closing stages of the game and had to be replaced by Gini Wijnaldum in the 83rd minute.
Klopp says the fact the attacker was limping is not a good sign and admitted the 25-year-old is now a doubt for the trip to Turf Moor to take on Burnley on Monday afternoon.
The Reds boss told Liverpoolfc.com:
“I don’t know in this moment exactly [what it is], but he was limping. That’s never a good sign, to be honest.
“We have to see what his problem was. We will see what he can do for the next game.”
Even if Salah has picked up a minor knock he could still miss the Burnley game as there is less than 48 hours to recover before the match and Liverpool won’t want to rush him back in fear of aggravating the problem further.
Obviously it would be a huge blow if Salah was ruled out as he’s been Liverpool’s best player this season and is in sensational form so no doubt Klopp will be praying for good news when the medical team assess the injury.
