Chelsea Team News: Conte Confirm Hazard Injury Blow But Defender Set For Recall
Antonio Conte has confirmed a fresh injury concern ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup clash at Norwich but a defender is set to return to the squad.
Chelsea will be looking to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup when they take on Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday evening.
Ahead of the game, Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s offered a team news and injury update.
The Blues boss revealed a fresh concern as Eden Hazard is a major doubt to take on Norwich this weekend after picking up a calf injury against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
Hazard was forced off during the closing stages of the 2-2 draw at the Emirates after taking a knock to his calf and it looks like the Belgian international won’t be risked in the FA Cup this weekend.
However, there was more positive news regarding the fitness of David Luiz as the centre-back is now considered fit and available for selection after recovering from a knee injury.
The Brazilian international has been on the sidelines for the last six weeks but has trained all week and is now back in contention for the trip to Norwich tomorrow evening.
Luiz is expected to be recalled to the starting eleven as Conte has confirmed that after a busy festive period he plans to rotate his squad at Carrow Road this weekend.
Conte reports that after the busy Christmas period, he must make selection rotations tomorrow. David Luiz is in contention to be involved. The only doubt is Hazard who had a kick on his calf.

Conte is set to rest some of his key men meaning the likes of Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Davide Zappacosta, Kenedy, Danny Drinkwater, Willian, Pedro and Michy Batshuayi could all be in-line for recalls.
