Agent In London To Finalise Terms With Chelsea After Blues Agree £50m Deal
Edin Dzeko’s agent is in London to finalise terms after Chelsea agreed a £50m deal with Roma to buy the striker and team mate Emreson Palmieri
The January transfer window is in full swing so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, Chelsea are closing-in on a £50m double deal….
Edin Dzeko’s agent is in London to finalise terms after Chelsea agreed a £50m deal with Roma to buy the striker and team mate Emreson Palmieri, according to the Mirror.
Antonio Conte is desperate to sign another striker this month to help ease the load on Alvaro Morata with the Spaniard struggling in front of goal having netted just once in his last ten appearances.
Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch in recent weeks but Dzeko emerged as a serious target late last week and the Blues have been in talks with Roma over the past few days.
It seems an agreement has finally been reached as the Mirror claim Chelsea have agreed a £50m double deal that will also see £20m-rated full-back Emerson Palmieri head to Stamford Bridge this month.
Dzeko was concerned about being a back-up to Morata but the newspaper says Chelsea have given him assurances over regular playing time and the west Londoners are confident of getting the deal done.
The report says Dzeko’s agent flew in to London on Monday to finalise personal terms with Chelsea and the Blues are offering the 31-year-old a deal worth £120,000-a-week which could also include performance-based add-ons.
The deal for Palmieri is further down the line as the Mirror claim the left-back has already agreed personal terms while the Evening Standard believe he’s already in London to undergo his medical.
Conte has been in the market for a new full-back for some time and Palmieri will offer competition for Marcos Alonso in the left wing-back role if he completes his proposed move to Chelsea.

The 23-year-old has struggled to force his way back in to the Roma starting eleven since recovering from injury but the Brazilian is a huge talent so Conte will hope he rediscovers his best form here in England.
We’ll have to wait and see whether Chelsea manage to get this double deal over the line but I think Dzeko in particular would be a superb signing for the Blues if they can pull it off.
