Chelsea Steal March On Arsenal & Tottenham With £30m Bid For 22-Year-Old Star
Chelsea have stolen a march on Arsenal and Tottenham by launching a £30m move to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer
The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Jack Grealish…
Chelsea have stolen a march on Arsenal and Tottenham by launching a £30m move to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer, according to TeamTalk.
Grealish has been with Villa his entire career having joined the clubs youth ranks as a kid and he’s progressed through the system to become a vital player at Villa Park in recent years. The 22-year-old was instrumental in their promotion push last season that saw Steve Bruce’s side reach the Championship play-off final where they narrowly lost out to Fulham at Wembley.
The England Under-21 international has attracted interest from the Premier League with TeamTalk claiming that Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are among a host of clubs to have expressed their interest this summer.
Arsenal need to strengthen their midfield options as Jack Wilshere is set to leave after failing to sign a new deal while Spurs are also in the market for midfield reinforcements amid speculation linking Mousa Dembele with a move to Italy.
However, it looks like Chelsea have stolen a march on their London rivals as TeamTalk claim the Blues have tested Villa’s resolve with an offer worth around £30m for Grealish’s signature.
That bid falls short of Villa’s £40m valuation but the report says Chelsea are willing to send the midfielder back on loan to the Midland’s club for the 2018/19 campaign before linking up with them in 12 months time.
Grealish is reportedly keen to stay at Villa Park for another season to help make up for their promotion heartbreak so Chelsea’s offer would allow him to do that and help Villa ease their financial troubles at the same time.
The west Londoners are looking to revamp their squad after missing out on the top four but they clearly see Grealish as ‘one for the future’ and a long-term investment rather than someone who’ll make an immediate impact.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress as there is obviously still time for the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham to step-up their pursuit of Grealish but it looks like Chelsea are currently in pole position to sign the talented midfielder.
