Liverpool are ready to launch a swoop to sign £52.6m Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his attacking options this summer, according to a report by TeamTalk.
Klopp has one of the best attacks in Europe at his disposal with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino devastating defences throughout last season. However, the Reds boss knows he needs to add more depth to his ranks if Liverpool are to compete on all fronts next season.
The Merseysiders were reportedly on the verge of signing Nabil Fekir from Lyon but the proposed deal collapsed due to concerns over the French international’s knee so Klopp has been on the look out for alternatives.
It seems he’s cast his eye to Serie A as TeamTalk are citing a report from Transfermarketweb that claims Liverpool have identified Insigne as a potential target and are now lining-up a sensational swoop for the Napoli star.
Insigne has been with Napoli his entire career having progressed through their youth system and has been a key player for the Italian giants for the past six years having racked-up over 260 first team appearances.
The 27-year-old provided 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions last season to help Napoli push Juventus all the way in the Serie A title race but the attacker has been tipped for a move this summer in search of a fresh challenge.
It looks like Liverpool are ready to offer the Italian international a new start in the Premier League but TeamTalk suggest they will have to pay around £52.6m to tempt Napoli in to selling one of their key players.

Insigne played much of his football from the left wing last season but he’s comfortable playing anywhere across the attacking midfield positions so his versatility would be a useful asset to Klopp if he ends up moving to Anfield.
