Leicester City vs Arsenal – Match preview, betting odds & predictions

Here is our match preview ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Leicester City including team news, betting odds and predictions.

Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang-arsenal

Arsenal take on Leicester City at the King Power on Sunday afternoon knowing they desperately need a win to boost their chances of finishing in the top four this season.

The Gunners slumped to a shock 3-2 defeat at home to Crystal Palace last weekend and followed that up with another dismal 3-1 loss at Wolves on Wednesday night so Unai Emery will be keen to get things back on track at Leicester.

The North Londoners currently sit fifth in the Premier League table – one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea – with three games to play but this weekend represents a great opportunity to make up some ground.

Chelsea are facing a tough trip to Manchester United this weekend, so Arsenal have a great chance to move back into the top four with a win at the King Power tomorrow.

Team news

Arsenal are expected to welcome Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back into the squad after he missed the Wolves game with a sinus problem. His return will be a major boost to Emery’s side as they lacked firepower at Molineux.

However, Aaron Ramsey is out with a hamstring injury while Denis Suarez is still nursing a groin issue so they remain on the sidelines along with long-term absentees Hector Bellerin, Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding.

Leicester have a healthy squad to choose from with only Daniel Amartey missing with a broken ankle.

Betting odds

This is a tricky game to bet on as although Arsenal have the potential to blow Leicester away, they have been woeful away from home this season and come into the match off the back of two consecutive defeats so we’ll have to think carefully about what markets to bet on. Here are a few different betting options for the game:

Full-time market: If you want to simply bet on the result of the match then Arsenal are the 8/5 favourites to win the game with Leicester priced at 33/20 and the draw available at odds of 13/5.

Trixie bet – first goalscorer: For those who aren’t aware, a trixie bet is a straightforward multiple bet that allows you to combine three selections to either win or be placed. You can still win even if you lose a leg when betting on certain football markets, such as first goalscorer. I think this is an interesting market for the Arsenal game as I fancy Aubameyang to open the scoring. The Gabon striker is 17/4 to score first tomorrow and I’d include this bet in a Trixie bet along with Hueng-min Son to score first for Tottenham against West Ham and Wilfried Zaha to open the scoring for Palace versus Everton.

Correct score: I expect this to be another difficult match for Arsenal but Leicester have very little left to play for while the north Londoners are battling for the top four so I think they’ll edge it. Arsenal have lost just one of their last 24 league meetings with Leicester and the Foxes have been poor at home this campaign having already lost eight times. My prediction is a 2-1 Arsenal win, which can be backed at odds of 8/1.
