Tottenham will look to make a statement of intent in the title race when they take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.

Ahead of the game, the club have issued a team news and injury update on TottenhamHotspur.com and confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino will be without four of his key players for the trip to City this weekend.

Dele Alli missed the opening weekend victory over Aston Villa with a hamstring injury that’s hampered him in recent weeks and the England international will once again be missing against City as he continues his rehabilitation.

Ryan Sessegnon joined Tottenham from Fulham on deadline day last week but the versatile winger arrived at the club carrying a niggling hamstring complaint which kept him out of the Villa game.

Sessegnon is still on the road to recovery so Spurs have confirmed he won’t be involved at the Etihad on Saturday meaning he’ll have to wait a little while longer to make his debut for the north London club.

Hueng-min Son and Juan Foyth are also unavailable for selection as they’ll serve the final game of their three-match bans which were carried over from last season – although Foyth wouldn’t be in contention anyway due to an ankle injury that’s expected to keep him on the sidelines for a few weeks.

However, it appears there is positive news on Ben Davies as the full-back should be available again after recovering from a hip injury that kept him out of the comeback victory over Villa last weekend.

Davies could now replace Danny Rose at left-back against City while Jan Vertonghen, Serge Aurier and Eric Dier are also pushing for recalls after being named on the bench last time out.

Christian Eriksen will also hope he did enough to force his way back into Pochettino’s starting eleven after changing the game against Villa following his introduction from the bench midway through the second half.
