Arsenal will be looking to climb up the table with a win when they take on Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Gunners endured a difficult time when football returned earlier this month as they were thrashed 3-0 by Manchester City before losing 2-1 at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend to leave them sitting in the bottom half of the table.

However, Mikel Arteta’s men bounced back with a vital 2-0 victory at Southampton to move up to 9th in the Premier League and booked their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a late 2-1 win at Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal’s reward is a trip to Wembley where they’ll meet odds-on favourites Manchester City in the last four so it’s going to be very difficult for the North Londoners to reach the final and keep alive any hopes of securing European football via the FA Cup.

Therefore, Arteta needs to focus on improving their position in the league table and a win over Norwich on Wednesday could see Arsenal climb as high as seventh and keep them in touch with the European qualification places.

Betting odds

Understandably, Arsenal are the heavy 2/5 favourites to win the game on home soil. The draw is priced at 15/4 and if you think there could be a shock at the Emirates you can back Norwich to take home all three points at odds of 7/1.

There are many bookmakers and online casinos you can use to place your bets. Many will give new customers welcome bonuses while others also give existing players loyalty bonuses that can be used on a variety of games.  You can click here to see a list of suitable casinos and reviews that will help you make an informed choice of where to place your bets.

As well as placing your football bets at online casinos and bookmakers, they also have a large variety of other games you can try your luck on such as slots, online poker and popular casinos games like roulette and craps.

Team news

Arsenal have a number of injury problems to contend with heading into the game which may influence your betting decisions. Goalkeeper Bernd Leno is out with a knee injury while Pablo Mari is also ruled out for the season with an ankle problem.

Gabriel Martinelli is facing months on the sidelines with a knee injury that he picked up in training while Calum Chambers is also still out. David Luiz was forced off with an ankle injury against Sheffield United so he’s expected to miss this game.

Lucas Torreira is back in training after recovering from an ankle injury but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be available for selection yet, however, Cedric Soares could be in contention after returning from a broken nose.

Mesut Ozil missed the FA Cup win at Bramall Lane with a minor back problem and Matteo Guendouzi wasn’t involved again following another bust-up with Arteta so the duo are doubts to face Norwich.

The Canaries will be without Timm Klose due to suspension, Grant Hanley is out with a hamstring problem while Chris Zimmermann and Sam Bryam are also still on the sidelines.

Prediction

Arsenal desperately need to win to boost their chances of qualifying for Europe next season and they should be confident of seeing-off a Norwich side that sit rooted to the bottom of the table. The visitors have won just 5 games all season and I don’t see that record improving at the Emirates.

The Gunners have been plagued by inconsistency all season but this is a great opportunity to get another three points on the board. I’m backing Arsenal to win this game 3-0 and you can bet on that result at odds of 17/2 with many bookmakers and online casinos.
