An exciting season is about to come to a close today, and I will certainly miss watching football. So it looks like Dalglish might unleash some of his youngsters out at Villa Park today, with it being the final day.
A few stats:
- -Liverpool succumbed to their first defeat under the Dalglish era against Tottenham last week.
- -Jack Robinson became the youngest player to play for Liverpool’s first team on Matchday 38 last year. Same as today.
- -Aston Villa will come in on a high after defeating Arsenal at the Emirates last week.
- -Brad Friedel is set to make his 400th league appearance, being only the 21st to reach that milestone.
Aston Villa Team News
Aston Villa’s squad being at full fitness has perhaps come at the wrong time in the season, with the Villains having a full squad which is injury-free ahead of this encounter with Liverpool FC at Villa Park today. Ciaran Clark is all set to return after recovering from a hamstring performance.
Liverpool FC Team News
Liverpool FC have a mostly fit squad as they are most likely set to welcome Raul Meireles back to the squad following a hamstring injury for the Portuguese midfielder, but he’s still doubtful to play. Liverpool FC will also have their regular absentees, with Gerrard (groin), Aureilio and Kelly (hamstring), Jovanovic and Agger (knee) out in the stands for today.
My Prediction
It is yet to be seen whether Aston Villa can take their win against Arsenal last week to another over Liverpool today, but I simply think that Liverpool will be too strong for the villains and that Liverpool will manage a win today.
