Liverpool could complete Bradley Barcola signing from Paris Saint-Germain for £110 million
Liverpool have been plotting an offensive rebuild for much of the summer but with the transfer window now approaching its end, there is hope that the Reds will secure a major signing to replace Mohamed Salah.
Standard (citing Juneux Footeux) has reported that Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain could close in on an agreement for Bradley Barcola shortly with the Ligue 1 giants lowering the Frenchman’s price tag from £145 million to £110 million now.
Personal terms between Barcola and Liverpool are already in place, Fabrizio Romano has reported, after the French international was excluded from PSG’s UEFA Super Cup squad with Luis Enrique also agreeing it may be best for the forward to leave the club.
Ferran Torres and Mika Godts recently joined PSG and with the Parisians now looking to balance their books, Barcola’s asking price has been slashed to a far more affordable amount, signalling a deal may only be a matter of time.
Barcola the best possible signing for Liverpool
While Bradley Barcola’s club teammate Ibrahim Mbaye is also linked with a transfer to Liverpool, the 23-year-old himself would be an excellent offensive addition as Mohamed Salah’s replacement.
Barcola’s speed, dribbling and ability to make runs behind defenders make him an unpredictable and dynamic option in the final third, whereas his ability to play effectively on both flanks as well as down the middle of attack will make him key for the Reds.
In limited game time for Paris Saint-Germain, he scored 13 goals and assisted seven times in all competitions last season, so with more regular minutes under his belt, there is every reason to believe he would be worth a lucrative investment for Liverpool.
Liverpool take on Newcastle United on matchday one of the Premier League this weekend and while Barcola might not be ready to feature for them by then, the club will hope he is signed in time for their first game at Anfield on matchday two against Nottingham Forest.
