There should be no speculation on high profile transfer targets for Wenger,it NEVER happens except in panic. If he is not a teenager, free agent or near retirement age,AW will save money to his only educated bargain-instinct and hide behind quoted numbers, not quality which costs money. This WIN-WIN formula, where people do not expect too much from a bargain, and if it works Wenger will be congratulated as a genius,so no speculation on high profile transfers are close to reality,EVER.

I’m seen this clown twice this season and he looks wasteful. I wouldn’t want him at my time or in the Premier League.

The ‘race’ refers to the teams who are interested in the player. Sow will have been watched by several teams from europe. Currently, according to reports in France, Spurs are the favourites of those interested teams to sign him. What’s so difficult to understand?
A transfer doesn’t just happen overnight and teams are constantly scouting and enquiring for players, not just in the transfer windows. So it’s very possible that at this point in time, Spurs have made the most contact regarding Sow, hence they are seen as ‘winning the race’. Of course their interest may not result in them buying Sow, but that doesn’t mean their not after him.
What kind of ‘proof’ do you want? Its very unlikely a manager will come out mid-season and say “I’m looking at buying player X this January”. So its left to the media to report on the rumours. Then it’s up to you what you believe.

@Football Talk: If as you put it, Spurs have made the most contact regarding Sow, then it shouldn’t be seen that “Spurs is winning the race. On the contrary, everyone and anyone who understands football would have said that “Spurs is desperate to sign Sow”. I hope that isn’t too difficult for you to understand?
