Unsettled Barcelona Star Pedro To Make £20m Move?
Barcelona attacker Pedro is frustrated at his lack of action at the Nou Camp and Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd are set to offer him a fresh start in England
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, several clubs are linked with Bacra star Pedro.
Barcelona attacker Pedro is growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of action at the Nou Camp and Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all ready to offer the £20m-rated ace a fresh start here in England, according to reports today.
Pedro has been with Barca his entire professional career after joining the club as a 17-year-old back in 2004 but had to wait over four years before he made his debut for the first team, coming on as a late substitute against Real Murcia in 2008.
By the following year he was featuring regularly, making over 50 appearances in the 2009/10 season, and it looked as though he would push on to become an integral part of the Catalans set-up. However, that hasn’t really been the case. While the 26-year-old has started almost 40 games in all competitions this season – scoring an impressive 20 goals – he’s often overlooked in the important games and rarely makes it through the 90 minutes – being subbed off on 24 occasions.
The Express claim reports in Spain are suggesting Pedro has now grown tired of his bit-part role and has already received several offers to move clubs this summer, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all believed to be keen on luring him to the Premier League.
The newspaper states that the attacker is valued at around £20m, but that seems rather cheap in today’s market for a player of Pedro’s caliber. If the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool or United could buy him at that price they would be getting one hell of a bargain.
Barcelona are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer after seeing their potential transfer ban suspended and Pedro could be seen as an asset they are willing to sacrifice in order to raise funds to strengthen other areas of the squad.
The Spanish international would be an excellent addition for any of the English trio who are understood to be interested and I’m sure they’d all jump at the chance of signing him if he does come on the market.
Arsenal are expected to add to their attacking options this summer after seeing their title dreams derailed by a lack of depth in attack, while Liverpool are also going to be busy building a squad capable of competing in the Champions League, and Pedro is the quality of player both clubs should be looking at.
United’s situation is rather more complex as they are unlikely to make any serious moves in the transfer market until a permanent successor to David Moyes is officially installed, although Louis van Gaal is widely expected to be named as they new boss next week.

It’s going to be interesting to see whether Pedro does push for a move but if he is to leave Barcelona, I hope he opts to try his luck in England as he’s be an excellent addition to the Premier League.
