Striker Set To Undergo Medical & Discuss Personal Terms After Chelsea Agree Deal
Loic Remy is set to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with Chelsea today after the Blues agreed to trigger the strikers £8m buy-out clause.
The summer transfer window is now reaching its climax and managers are working hard to make some last minute additions to their squad, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Chelsea are set to sign Loic Remy.
Loic Remy is set to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with Chelsea today after the Blues agreed to trigger the strikers £8m buy-out clause, according to reports.
Remy has been tipped to leave Queens Park Rangers all summer and a proposed move to Liverpool fell-through back in July at the last minute due to concerns over his medical results.
Harry Redknapp admits he’d like to keep hold of the 27-year-old but can’t stand in his way if a Champions League club comes calling and it now appears the French international is on his way to Stamford Bridge.
Widespread reports claim that Chelsea made contact with QPR on Friday night and agreed to pay the players £8m buy-out clause, while Sky Sports News are reporting that Remy has now been given permission to discuss personal terms with the West Londoners.
The Express go one further and suggest that a medical is being lined-up for Saturday, so the deal could be swiftly tied-up this weekend if all goes according to plan.
Jose Mourinho has made his move for Remy after agreeing to let Fernando Torres join AC Milan on a two-year loan deal. The 30-year-old is set to fly to Italy to wrap up the move today and end what’s been a nightmare stint at Stamford Bridge.
It’s going to be interesting to see if Chelsea are happy with Remy’s medical results after Liverpool backed out of a deal earlier in the summer. The striker has had his injury problems during his career, but that’s not stopped him impressing in the Premier League where he’s scored 20 goals in 40 games for QPR and Newcastle.

If he completes the move, the former Marseille striker will offer competition to Diego Costa and Didier Drogba in the Chelsea attack and although he’s predominantly a centre forward, Remy is also capable of playing out wide, so he’ll give Mourinho plenty of options in the final third.
