[Video Goals] Liverpool 2-1 Swansea: Balotelli & Lovren Strike Late To Rescue Reds

By on October 28, 2014

Liverpool needed two late goals from Mario Balotelli and Dejan Lovren to come from a goal down to beat Swansea City at Anfield on Tuesday night.

After a goalless first half, the visitors took the lead in the 65th minute when Marvin Emnes fired home a lovely volley for 0-1 before Balotelli levelled things up in the 86th minute when he poked home a Fabio Borini cross from close range.

With just seconds remaining in stoppage time, Swansea goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel misjudged a Philippe Coutinho cross allowing Lovren to head home the winner in to the empty net.

There was little time for the visitors to find a way back to Liverpool held on to book their place in the quarter final draw.
