Arsenal legend Paul Merson has made his prediction ahead of our Premier League clash with West Browich Albion at the Emirates on Thursday night.

Any remaining glimmer of hope of catching Leicester City evaporated with a dismal 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday and we’re now left in a familiar fight for fourth place.

The result at the weekend has left us sitting fourth in the table, level on points with Manchester City, but fifth-placed Manchester United are now just four points adrift with five games left to play so we desperately need to beat West Brom to cement our Champions League place.

United could close the gap to just a single point by the time we kick off if they beat Palace at home tomorrow night, so anything other than a win over the Baggies will leave us in serious danger of missing out on the top four.

While many fans may have lost faith in this team, there is still one man who thinks we’ll put in a decent display and ease past West Brom on Thursday with former winger Merson  tipping us to win 3-0.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, he said:

How have Arsenal not won the league? You look at their fixtures now and they have the perfect run-in, but inconsistency has again cost them. I don’t see them having any problems against West Brom at the Emirates. It will be a comfortable win for the Gunners.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0

We’ll have to wait and see whether Merson’s prediction proves accurate but it would certainly ease the pressure a little if we could secure all three points on Thursday night.

If you agree with Merse and think Arsenal will win, then….
