Man Utd vs Hull City Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Man Utd take on Hull City at Old Trafford tonight. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score.
Manchester United will be looking to close in on the top four in the league table when they entertain Hull City at Old Trafford this evening.
United sat back and watched all their main rivals drop points on Tuesday night with Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea all drawing while Arsenal slumped to a shock home defeat to Watford.
The results means sixth-placed United can close the gap on second-placed Tottenham to just three points with a win tonight so this is an opportunity Jose Mourinho will not want to pass up.
The Reds Devils warmed up for the game with a comfortable win over Wigan in the FA Cup on Sunday and Mourinho is expected to recall a number of key men after resting them at the weekend.
Hull head in to the game sitting bottom of the Premier League table but they can take confidence from the fact that they beat United just a week ago after winning the second leg of their EFL Cup semi final 2-1 at the KCOM Stadium.
Team news
United have no fresh injury worries to contend with and Mourinho is expected to recall the likes of David De Gea, Paul Pogba, Antonio Valencia and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Eric Bailly could be included in the squad despite picking up a minor knock while playing for the Under-23’s on Monday but Phil Jones is likely to start alongside Marcos Rojo at the back.
Anthony Martial is expected to be named on the bench despite a solid performance at the weekend with Jesse Lingard coming in to the attack after being left out on Sunday.
Hull have been dealt a huge blow with the news that Curtis Davies has been ruled out for eight weeks with a hamstring injury so boss Marco Silva will be praying fellow centre-backs Michael Dawson and Harry Maguire recover from knocks.
Andrea Ranocchia could be in contention after making a loan move from Inter Milan yesterday but he’s unlikely to be thrown straight in to action in such a big game.
Ahmed Elmohamady and Dieumerci Mbokani are still away at the Africa Cup of Nations while Ryan Mason, Will Keane, Moses Odubajo, Greg Luer and Markus Henriksen are all still injured.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Man Utd 2-0 Hull: United simply have to take this opportunity to close the gap on those above them and they will be confident of seeing off the divisions bottom club. Hull put up a spirited effort in the League Cup last week but this will be a very different game at Old Trafford and I think United will ease to a 2-0 win.
