Man Utd vs Crystal Palace Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Manchester United take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score
Manchester United will look to avoid picking up any further injuries when they take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds are guaranteed to finish sixth in the Premier League table no matter the result tomorrow so it’s understandable their mind is firmly on Wednesday night’s Europa League final.
Jose Mourinho has vowed to field a severely weakened side which will include several youngsters as he looks to protect his key men for the Ajax game in Stockholm.
Palace also have nothing left to play for as they have secured their top flight status for another season but Sam Allardyce will be hoping to come away with a win to try and clinch 11th place in the table.
Team News
Mourinho has confirmed that Paul Pogba will feature as the midfielder needs to get some minutes under his belt ahead of the Ajax game having missed the last two matches following the death of his father.
Marouane Fellaini isn’t expected to be risked after picking up a hamstring issue against Southampton in midweek while Chris Smalling is also out with a minor muscle problem.
Youngsters Joel Pereira, Kieran O’Hara, Demi Mitchell, Scott McTominay, Josh Harrop, Matthew Willock, Zachary Dearnley, Angel Gomes, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Axel Tuanzebe could all be involved in the squad.
Eric Bailly should start as he’s suspended for the Europa League final while Wayne Rooney is unlikely to start having played 90 minutes in midweek. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Ashley Young are all out through injury.
Palace are without Andros Townsend while Yohan Cabaye faces a late fitness test and Scott Dann is out with a knee injury. Connor Wickham, Pape Souare and Mamdou Sakho are all out with long-term injuries.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Man Utd 1-1 Crystal Palace: It’s difficult to know what to expect from United as they will be playing an unrecognizable side. The good news is Palace have nothing to play for so the youngsters shouldn’t be under too much pressure and while I’m not expecting a classic, it should be a well contested game. I don’t see this inexperienced United side doing enough to win but they should have enough quality to earn a draw at home.
